1. Google Trends is the first place you can visit to find out the hottest topics for the day (where people are searching in Google Search Engine for).
2. Lycos Top 50 is very similar to Google Trends, where you can find out the hottest topics people are searching for (topics in which people are searching for in the Lycos Search Engine). The difference is that this list is updated weekly, unlike Google Trends, which is updated daily.
3. Yahoo Buzz gives you the top 10 searches by people in the Yahoo Search Engines, and this list is updated hourly. You can also see what people are “buzzing” (discussing) about in the various categories such as Entertainment, Video, Sports, People, etc.
4. eBay Pulse. You can find out the hottest items people are looking to buy from eBay Pulse. In eBay Pulse, you’ll see a list of top 10 popular searches in eBay. This list will give you an idea of physical products that people are currently looking to buy (a BIG, BIG clue on where most money is being spent).
5. Amazon Bestsellers is another place where you can find exactly what people are looking to spend money on.
6. Magazines.com. By looking into what are the top-selling magazines in Magazines.com, it will give you an idea on the areas in which people are interested in.
7. Similar to eBay Pulse and Amazon’s Bestsellers list, Shopping.com’s Top Searches list also lists down the top items that people buy in Shopping.com, in the various categories. Shopping.com updates these search results once every two weeks.
